EMT-I to Advanced Transition

The course is intended to bridge the gap between the EMT-Intermediate and the Advanced EMT based upon the National EMS Educational Standards. The program will cover materials not traditionally covered in the EMT-Intermediate curriculum focusing on assessments skills, critical thinking skills, therapeutic communications, Pharmacology, Respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies, Obstetrics and gynecological emergencies, Trauma Management, special populations and EMS operations. This course will cover all practicum and psychomotor skills for the Advanced EMT as well as providing a preparatory course to assist the course participant in preparing for the NREMT Advanced EMT cognitive examination.
