12 Lead STEMI
This course offering will provide the participant with specific knowledge and experience in 12 Lead ECG interpretation.
At the end of the program the student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following:
Acquisition of a 12 lead ECG; correct lead placement
Waveform indications of coronary artery insufficiency
Specifics of STEMI-ST Elevated MI:
- New onset Bundle Branch Block
- Infarct or “non-diagnostic” 12 lead ACS subsets
- Anatomical relationships of Coronary artery and myocardial anatomy
- Recognition of classis patterns of myocardial injury
Ability to quantify:
- Definite STEMI or new LBBB
- Possible STEMI
- Suspicious for Ischemia
- Non-Diagnostic
- Pseudo/Mimic ACS rhythms or patterns
- Pericarditis, Benign early repolarization, IVR and Paced Rhythms
- Recognition of other imitator concerns:
- Hypothermia, metabolic QRS, ST and T wave changes
- Drug/medication induced changes
Upon successful completion the participant will meet the required 12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG) Competency Advisory (MAOEMS Advisory 01/20/2011)
