ADVANCED EMT PROGRAM
The AEMT Course is a course that builds upon the EMT certification level and expands the EMS provider’s scope to a level allowing the provision of ALS intervention without attending a Paramedic Program. The course consists of didactic and lab training coupled with a strong clinical and field internship component. Course participants learn assessment skills, IV therapy and advanced airway skills and management techniques. Clinical rotations and field internships are provided as part of the program. This course further reaffirms knowledge of the EMT Basic and adds crucial ALS lifesaving interventions.
Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the National Registry of EMT’s Advanced EMT cognitive (written) and psychomotor (practical) examinations.
